Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 May 2026
Welcome to drrent. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and drrent ("we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the drrent website, mobile experience and related services (the "Platform"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Who we are
drrent is a UK-based digital marketplace that connects prospective tenants with verified landlords, letting agents and contractors. We are a technology platform - we are not a letting agent, we do not act as your landlord, and we do not provide legal, financial or tax advice.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
- You must use the Platform in compliance with all applicable UK laws, including the Renters' Rights Act, Right to Rent legislation, Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and UK GDPR.
- One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
3. Tenant accounts
- Posting requirements, browsing properties and sending "I'm interested" enquiries is free.
- Optional paid services (credit checks, referencing, ID verification) are offered through our verified third-party partners and processed securely via Stripe.
- You confirm that the information you provide (income, employment, identity) is accurate. Misrepresentation may result in suspension or termination.
4. Landlord accounts
- Landlords pay per verified lead unlocked. There is no subscription fee.
- You confirm you have legal authority to let each property you list and that all listings comply with the Renters' Rights Act, including the prohibition on rent bidding wars and the limit on rent in advance.
- You must keep statutory certificates (Gas Safety, EICR, EPC) valid and provide them to tenants as required by law.
- You must complete Right to Rent checks before granting a tenancy. drrent does not perform Right to Rent checks on your behalf.
5. Contractor accounts
- Contractors must be properly qualified, insured and (where applicable) Gas Safe / NICEIC / DBS registered. Documentation is verified before activation.
- You agree to deliver services lawfully, professionally and to the standard advertised.
6. Fees and payments
All fees are shown in pounds sterling and inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Limited. Refunds are handled in accordance with our published refund rules and your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
7. Verification
Verification badges (credit, referencing, ID, contractor accreditation) reflect checks performed by us or our partners at a point in time. They do not constitute a guarantee, endorsement or warranty.
8. Acceptable use
You must not post false, misleading, discriminatory or unlawful content; scrape the Platform; attempt to circumvent paid features; or contact other users outside drrent to avoid fees. See our Acceptable Use Policy for details.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or where required by law. We retain certain records after closure as set out in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and/or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence.
